  i married into a jw family, my husband, now ex, was df'd at the time, but reinstated.

  after he was reinstated he started doing business with a strip club, cleaning it on a daily basis.

  at first he made me do it, but i had major issues, there were naked pics posted everywhere, and a porn shop with all sorts of toys that were sold in the club as well.

  i'm sure this kind of thing has been discussed before, but who here thinks the elders remind them of the pharisees with their guidelines strict rules?

  like the length of a slit in your skirt, or no sideburns on men or no beards, or men can't dye their hair, or no colored dress shirts or suits on the "brothers".

  they would say these were guidelines but then take your "privileges" away if you didn't comply.

  Ive figured out our need for religion...

  or at least i have a good theory as to why we like to think there is a god who cares about us and why we follow his "guidelines" and rules and then go to his churches and follow his religions.... i think our major problem as living breathing entities is that we like to believe the world revolves around us.

  no matter how unselfish we think we are, we still do not want to think of a time when we are not around... we do not want to think of being forgotten, we do not even want to think of dying... right?

  so we invent a god, who cares and who stretches his hands out to us so that we can one day be remembered by him, and be saved by him, either by reincarnation, heaven, new world, and the list goes on... we are all afraid of nothingness, so we use religion to console our fear and to be able to think that we will never be nothing.... what do you think???.

  Note the fact he was working at Saint Agnes. That sounds like a catholic school. No doubt his local congregation will be distancing themselves from him now, saying that he wasn't a proper Dub because he was working at a catholic school and real dubs have no part in Babylon The Great. Hell they'll even be convincing themselves that he must have been possessed by some religious idol at the school.

  That scream scheme thing sounds brilliant. Get the kids out in the playground once a month practising their screams for 5 minutes, they'd love it.
